This initiative is a partnership with Web Site Advantage as technical developer and Agricultural Promotion Projects, based in the Netherlands and an organizer of national and international events for professionals in certain sectors of industry. PotatoReporter Online consists of a monthly e-newsletter service for professionals in the potato industry. The web site features online versions of newsletters and a library of potato articles. Users are able to subscribe to the e-newsletter service for free and to advertise their products and services in the e-newsletter, as well as on the site. The site includes an ad tracking system and we will provide an advertisement design service to PotatoReporter Online advertisers. Our client uses a content management system for managing and tracking banner ads, generating and posting newsletters and organizing site content into a reference library, and managing the subscriber list.

Gerrit Visser & Sons have been growing potatoes for over 20 years and are introducing a new brand, PEI Spuds, to the market. The finest Prince Edward Island potatoes are packaged in a new potato bag that we have designed, prominently featuring the web site address www.peispuds.ca. To build trust and loyalty to the new brand, we developed a web site using earthy colours that introduces the Visser family to the consumer through a farm tour, information on their varieties, a "Mom's Potato Recipes" section, spud facts, a guest book and a photo shed for downloading local agricultural scenes for your wallpaper. Our client can update content and photos in various sections of this site through a Content Management System.

This enables our client to post translations of news and variety fact sheets into Spanish and French as they become available.

International Potato Training Survey
An Internet-based market study done for the World Potato Learning Center to determine the needs of developing countries with regards to practical training in potato cultivation, processing, and marketing. Individuals in more than 50 potato producing countries were surveyed through an online form. Results were aggregated and analyzed electronically.

Frito-Lay Agricultural Research Center

A secure extranet developed for the private use of the Frito-Lay Agricultural Research Center, their growers and partners. The content of various parts of the web site reside in databases with a Content Management System (CMS) allowing the client to update content dynamically. A discussion forum enables growers to communicate with one another, as well as the research staff. Recently we developed a Grower Quality Network, a web-based data collection and reporting system using ASP, SQL Server and Crystal Reports. An XML import function allows growers to import data from existing desktop systems.

In addition, a consumer section features potato recipes, nutritional information, and frequently asked questions. The buyer section features the shippers that are represented by PNB, and information about seed potatoes, fresh and table potatoes and processing potatoes. The resource section features links to other potato resources on the web, information about the NB potato cluster, and NB potato varieties. PNB staff is able to update site content through an easy-to-use, multi-lingual content management system.
